Water treatment optimization control system

Domestic quality standards for supply water are becoming increasingly stringent. Water treatment facilities are injecting multiple chemicals to comply with such standards. Despite the costliness of the chemicals, however, dosing is primarily conducted by means of proportional control. With this being the case, excessive injection of chemicals tends to take place in order to meet the standards in place.

The optimal chemical dosing control system consists of prediction and control functions. With the prediction function, the dosing effect of multiple chemicals is predicted against multiple water quality indicators in the same way as is performed in a jar test. With the control function, the chemical dosing optimization is controlled by ensuring both target following capabilities and a reduction in chemical costs.
This system reduces chemical expenses by optimizing the chemical dosing rate, which contributes to the reduction of the lifecycle costs.
