A corporate group of which METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President and Representative Director: Kenji Yamaguchi; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) is the representative company has entered into a consignment contract with Shunan City Water and Sewer Bureau (Water and wastewater business manager: Mamoru Izutsu) for the "Shunan City Tokuyama Central Purification Center Reconstruction Project".

The project will be implemented under the DBO (Design-Build-Operate) method*, which integrates the renewal of the water treatment facilities at the purification center, which have been in service for more than 50 years, with the operation and maintenance of each facility, including the existing facilities. The "Toda-Metawater-Chuken-Quest-Sanyo Fuji-Original Specified Construction Joint Venture" will be responsible for the design and construction work, while "Shunan Water Service Co., Ltd. (special purpose company)" will be responsible for operation and maintenance.

The basic concept of this project is to ensure business continuity through stable and continuous treatment of sewage, reduction of life cycle costs, and development of facilities consider long-term operation and maintenance.

As the representative company, METAWATER will seek to ensure business continuity by combining the city's expertise in sewage works operations with the latest technology from the private sector, while leveraging our experience in public-private partnership projects.
