METAWATER to supply Mobile Ceramic Membrane Filtration Equipment in Myanmar

METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Yasushi Nakamura; hereinafter referred to as "METAWATER") is pleased to announce that it has received an order for its mobile ceramic membrane filtration equipment in cooperation with Trendy Group (Representative: Mr. Than Ohn)*1, which has business offices in Nagoya, Aichi and in Yangon, Myanmar. The system aims to improve Myanmar's crisis management capabilities and provide drinking water in the face of natural disasters.

METAWATER has continuously conducted an empirical demonstration of mobile ceramic membrane filtration equipment in Myanmar since February 2014 in cooperation with its business partner, Trendy Group. In addition, METAWATER was entrusted by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare with the "Water Supply Management Improvement Project" in September 2013 and has investigated the local water environment and needs for a mobile ceramic membrane filtration equipment. When severe flooding hit Myanmar in August 2015, METAWATER supplied drinking water to flood victims in Kalay and neighboring regions with the system which was being used for the demonstration. In recognition of its voluntary services, METAWATER received a certificate of recognition*2 from the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development of Myanmar. As a result of these activities, the government of Myanmar recognized the effectiveness of the system in emergency situations and its safe and high quality water treatment capacity in the face of natural disasters, which resulted in METAWATER receiving the order.

Going forward, METAWATER aims to expand the sale of this mobile filtration system as a source of emergency drinking water to areas without access to safe drinking water in addition to Myanmar.
