METAWATER Concludes Contract on the "Water Source eco-project" (W-eco'p) with Yokohama Waterworks Bureau -- Launching Activities to Conserve Watershed Forests for Yokohama Citizens--

METAWATER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Tomoyasu Kida; hereinafter referred to as "METAWATER") has concluded a contract on the "Water Source eco-project" (W-eco'p) with Yokohama Waterworks Bureau to conserve watershed forests in Doshi-Mura, Yamanashi Pref, one of the water sources for Yokohama city.

METAWATER will thin out watershed forests with a total area of 9 ha during the three-year period starting in FY2015. Furthermore, METAWATER will name the agreed lands "METAWATER Doshi-no-Mori Forest" and set up signboards to raise awareness of its engagement in the conservation of watershed forests to people visiting the water source. The name, "METAWATER Doshi-no-Mori Forest," incorporates METAWATER's wish to conserve, together with Yokohama city, the water source, Doshi-Mura.

As a consequence, a signing ceremony was conducted at Yokohama Waterworks Bureau on February 18, 2015, attended by Yokohama Waterworks Bureau Director of General, Mr. Kazunari Doi, METAWATER President and Representative Director, Mr. Tomoyasu Kida, and other parties related to the two.

METAWATER has previously taken part in forest volunteer activities in the Okutama forest and in the Forestation Program in Takao sponsored by the Japanese Alpine Club. This participation in the "Water Source eco-project"(W-eco'p) is an activity linked to the conservation of forests in Doshi-Mura, Yamanashi Pref, the water source for the Yokohama Waterworks Bureau Kawai Purification Plant "Cerarocca", in which METAWATER is also engaged. It is the first time for METAWATER to give support to water circulation ranging from the conservation of watershed forests to water treatment.

METAWATER is one of the companies which has cooperated in the Kawai Purification Plant redevelopment business, and we are extremely encouraged to hear that the company will be collaborating with us this time in such a way. The "Water Source eco-project" (W-eco'p) activity has two important purposes; one is to advance a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and the other is to support water circulation. As mutual partners, we would like to promote activities to conserve watershed forests which we consider to be Yokohama Waterworks Bureau's work.

Doshi-no-Mori Forest is the watershed forest of Yokohama Waterworks Bureau Kawai Purification Plant "Cerarocca". METAWATER serves as a representative company of a special purpose company set up under the Kawai Purification Plant PFI business, and conducts design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the purification plant. Through this opportunity to take part in the activity to conserve watershed forests, METAWATER, as a company which aims to become a total solution company in water environment and circulation, is very pleased to be able to be involved in the water environment extending from the water source to the purification plant.

Water Source eco-project (W-eco'p)

The Water Source eco-project (W-eco'p) is a project jointly developed by entities such as participant companies and organizations to develop watershed forests which Yokohama Waterworks Bureau owns in Doshi-Mura, Yamanashi Pref. To date, 15 companies and organizations have concluded a contract.
